Sarasota gas falls from May’s $4.38 peak to about $3.59

Sarasota regular gas was about $3.59 on June 25, 2026, down about 1.6% from $3.65 on June 18. From the May 4 peak of about $4.38, that is a decline of about 18.0%, or roughly $0.79.

The most recent six local prices averaged about $3.65, compared with about $4.23 for the prior six — down about 13.8%. The lowest mark in the span was about $2.69 on February 17.

AAA put the national average for regular gasoline at about $4.15 as of September 5, 2026. That national update is several weeks newer than the local prices, which end June 25, so the Sarasota figure should not be read as the current pump price.
