Phase 3 Water Restrictions Extended Through October 2026 in Sarasota County

The Southwest Florida Water Management District's governing board voted to extend Phase 3 water restrictions through Oct. 1, 2026, citing ongoing drought conditions across the region. The restrictions apply to Sarasota County residents and businesses.

Under the current restrictions, lawn watering is limited to overnight hours — between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. or 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. — and permitted only on designated watering days. Car washing is allowed at any time on assigned watering days but requires the use of a shutoff nozzle on the hose. Fountain operation is restricted to four hours per day.

Sarasota County Public Utilities staff will issue citations without prior warning to those found in violation of the restrictions.
