New College of Florida to Host Talk on Evolution and the Human Mind

New College of Florida will host a public discussion titled "Did the Human Mind Evolve?" on April 7 at the campus's Sainer Pavilion in Sarasota. The event is part of the institution's Socratic Stage series and is free to attend, with tickets available online.

The discussion will feature William Von Hippel, an author and psychologist known for his work on evolutionary psychology, and Cory Clark, a professor at New College of Florida. The two plan to examine questions about what role natural selection may have played in shaping human cognition, behavior, and social life, as well as areas where scientific evidence on the topic remains under debate.

The event is open to the public. Tickets are being distributed through the Trellis platform at no cost.
