Siesta Key Named No. 1 Beach in the U.S. by U.S. News and World Report

Siesta Key in Sarasota, FL, has been ranked the No. 1 best beach in the United States by U.S. News and World Report in the publication's latest annual rankings. This is always a mixed bag for Sarasota residents; some appreciate the recognition, while others dread the additional crowds publicity brings. At this point, though, I don't think Siesta Key was off the radar anymore.
The beach, located on a barrier island off the coast of Sarasota, is widely known for its fine white quartz sand. Siesta Key has received top honors in national beach rankings multiple times over the years from various publications.
