New College to Host Discussion on Evolution of the Human Mind

New College of Florida will host a public discussion titled "Did the Human Mind Evolve?" on April 7 at the college's Sainer Pavilion in Sarasota. The event is part of the institution's Socratic Stage series and is free to attend, with tickets available online.
The discussion will feature William Von Hippel, an author and psychologist, alongside New College professor Cory Clark. The two are expected to explore questions about whether natural selection can account for aspects of human cognition, behavior, and social life, as well as areas where scientific evidence on the topic remains under debate.
